OUR NEW CHURCH
Popular for using the architectural patterns as found in the Eastern Spiritual Culture, the Moolepat Mar Baselios Mar Gregorios Orthodox New Church stands tall amongst the community in Moolepat, as 'a tower of peace' constantly attracting people and its surroundings towards it. Still standing afresh by its beauty and appealing geographic location, the parish is a memorabilia of our forefathers’ eternal love for God and their willingness to sacrifice themselves.
Started with very few parishioners, the parish has come a long way today, with a lot of people currently being the active members of the church. With the many fold increase of people, the Church appeared to be too small to fit them all, for prayers and services. For a parish consisting of around 150 families, barely 100 people could stand inside the church. This has been a problem for people to contemplate for ages, and building a new, spacious church was a collective dream for everyone. And when there was an increasing support to help realize this cause, the parish public meeting one day convened and decided to materialize this dream.
Thus, like King Solomon, we went on a humble journey in this regard, to cherish our dreams to build a a worthy worship place for God, that doesn’t take away the spiritual beauty mentioned in the Eastern Spiritual visions, in the path guided by our ancestors, with an attitude ready for hard work and sacrifices, with our faith and prayers kept in the Lord Almighty. The New Church was consecrated on September 11, 2022 by His Holiness Baselios Marthoma Mathews III and was dedicated to the people of Moolepat.
